Hi!

I am the fellow who annually produces the Vintage Film Room in real 16mm at Lunacon. By 1215 I should be relocated for at least half the year from Brooklyn to be living with my girlfriend in the Hollywood FL area. So I'd like to know if you might like me to produce a Vintage Film Room for your Worldcon using my 16mm film archive and my own projection equipment.

I'd also like to know, if you can tell me, what SF cons might exist in that part of Southeast FL that she and I might attend. I have so far only attended cons within an easy commuting range of New York City and have no idea what might be going on as annual events down your way. And I would welcome the opportunity to screen films for any event down in that area as my schedule might permit.

Thanx For All,

Mike Olshan

We looked at the costs of sending a rep and realized that this $3000 could be spent with better impact by attending future SMOFcons, closer to the voting and all Worldcons between now and voting. Basically, this was just our 'here we are' notice. We are serious about making this a more affordable Worldcon and that starts with all of us looking at ways to do things efficiently and sufficiently for less.

Given that a lot of voters aren't familiar with your committee and that SMOFCon usually has an impressive percentage of voters in attendance, I'm surprised that you did not take the opportunity to send a committee member to explain your bid in person and to be available to meet and greet members over the weekend. Seems to me that it would have been a worthwhile investment
